Spring is springy

Today was well and truly the first day of spring; I spent the day bounding around fields and sprawling castle grounds with the new family pup Hollie. Don't have a pic of her sorted yet, but trust me, she's a cutie! Though it's dulled down now, it was gloriously sunny earlier (that sounds like a phrase from a weather report) and I couldn't help but be inspired by it. So I managed to finally sort out my pin-board and now it looks like a piece of art in itself. I'm so pleased:D

Shuffling apologetically...I had homework!

Ok so I haven't given the blog the right sort of attention over the past while...I'm not going to lie about it, it's not like an excuse for not having your homework done or something. The truth is I have been v. v. V. busy with schoolwork (eurgh-I know!) and just haven't been able to get to the blog-sorry! I am getting now. I've also neglected Leah's Create Every Day scheme for a while-and for that I atone :(. I make up for it now, I include....well, you have eyes to see it-this picture of a part of my room avec vibrant colours.
I've been creative in quite a few ways. Like the other day I was looking for one of my best friends during school and when I couldn't find her my other best friend and I made up a song about it in French-like you do! Just silly little randomn acts of creativity like that (I can't even speak French so I thought it was very creative to use what little of the language I know to make a song which actualy sort of made sense) have characterised my mood of late. I'm talking complete rubbish now, I should really stop!
TGI Friday-the week has been seriously too long! I get some exam results next week, so am sort of worried about those-actually, that's a bit of an understatement-I am very worried. I walked out of one of them way back in January and when I was asked how it was, I said, "Well, errr, actually I HAVE NO IDEA!" Oh well, c'est la vie (another bit of French I know!)
Going to go now and enjoy my Friday because I don't have to work-for a change. Thank Crunchie it's FRIDAY!!!

Dark circles under eyes suggest art at 3 a.m. is not a substitute for beauty sleep

I really am exhausted from staying up last night. Don't know what it was, 3 a.m. is my normal cut off time. I feel most creative during the night.

Speaking of creative, I am so excited to be participating in Leah's Creative Every Day 2008 Challenge. Any excuse for a bit of creativity is good with me!

So I did loads last night, made a few necklaces, watched a bit of TV and sorted out some old photos of my GCSE Art Project. GCSEs are exams taken when you're sixteen in the UK. I chose to do Art and had a fantastic time, without it I wouldn't have discovered silk painting or felt making (and also without it I wouldn't have gotten FULL MARKS). Sorry, that just popped out. I was so proud.

Anyway, above is an example of my creativity of the day, since technically as it was 3 in the morning it was today and not last night. I just love the felt ball necklace, that'll be so hard to part with! Hopefully they'll be in the old Etsy shop soon enough, as soon as I can borrow a decent camera. My old one doesn't really pick up the details.
I'll post some of my GCSE Art Projects on some time. Right now, I'm preparing for lunch and and a shopping trip with my fantastic mum, so this is gonna have to wait.

Just a little sketch

Thought I'd share a sketch with you, just to bulk up the blog...
At the moment...am busy making felt beads. Feel like I'm in primary school again.

Blog Baptism-Welcome one and all!

Hello everyone and anyone who may be reading this!

I don't want to be really boring and start with my name is Jemma and I am an artist in my free time, so instead, I'll just say my name is artist and I am a Jemma in my free time. I like to be a bit twisty with words...

I'm so new to this thing that I haven't really a clue how to go about it, maybe I should say why I've decided to start blogging. This is a bit like a diary, and I always hate the first page of diaries when you go into all sorts of detail about yourself and your hobbies and other rubbish. It's a bit pointless when it's a diary anyway becuase no one reads it but you. So maybe it's not so much like a diary after all.

I'm sorry, I know I talk rubbish. Bear with me because I actually do have some stuff to say.

The main reason I'm blogging is because I've been a bit creative of late and I've seen other artists blogging and wondered what it's like. I'm also trying to get the word out about my online jewellery shop at missjemthegem.etsy.com. Etsy is the best website in the world! I swear, I don't buy anything in shops anymore. If you like 100% handmade, vintage and unique items, Etsy is the one for you.

Enough about Etsy, what about me!!!!!!

Well, I have made some pieces recently that I am so proud of and I can't wait to share them with someone. Please leave me a comment to let me know there's someone out there!!!

More later, have to sort out some photos.
